Mary passed away right before graduation in 1980. I remember the day after it happened like it was yesterday. I remember her smile. I will remember you always, my friend.
Yes it was a Sunday in 1980. I was with Mary that Friday night. My mom woke me up Monday morning to tell me she was involved in the fire in her room. I miss you Mary!
I was a loner in high school but Mary treated me with the same kindness that she reserved for her best friends. She was so kind and had a beautiful spirit.a memory of her laughing while hanging out in the Back 40 will be etched in my memory and heart forever.
That was such a hard time. I remember finding out Monday morning before "Zero Hour" - I had already talked everyone into leaving because the teacher was there on time. Walking back out to our cars I found out. That was terrible. I too visit her grave periodically.
